David Longwell is an American painter and draftsman whose works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in the United States. He defines his style as formalist, working within traditional modernist approaches to line, color interaction, and non-representational abstraction. For Longwell, meditation guides his intuition and intuition guides his process. He creates ink drawings on clay board daily before moving to oils on canvas.
