About this artwork
In this expressive dance of oil on canvas, I've unleashed a whirlwind of emotions. The abstract, gestural strokes reveal an inner turmoil and passionate resolve. As an artist, I sought to capture the intangible essence of our deepest thoughts and feelings, inviting viewers into a personal conversation with the art. This piece resonates with a raw energy that will invigorate any space, harmonizing with the unique story each observer brings.

« I strive for self-understanding through self-expression. My work is often regarded as a slowly revealing read, as am I. »
David Longwell is an American painter and draftsman whose works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in the United States. He defines his style as formalist, working within traditional modernist approaches to line, color interaction, and non-representational abstraction. For Longwell, meditation guides his intuition and intuition guides his process. He creates ink drawings on clay board daily before moving to oils on canvas.
