About this artwork
Ralph was an American who lived in Carcoar , New South Wales Australia. He was the subject for a portrait in Carcoar, NSW. This drawing in pastel pencil slowly developed into a triple portrait which was not my intention when I first began but i was pleased with the outcome. This drawing was also in the Pratique des Arts publication, "40 Maitres du Pastel" in 2016

« Faces and figures have always been my passion, exploring form, light, shade, and pattern, bound with the texture of paint, canvas and their aromas, coupled with the human form is delightful. »
David Newman-White is an artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in the United States and Switzerland. Fascinated by the portraits and figurative works of the Baroque artists, as well as religious themes and imagery, Newman-White's distinctive expressive representational style conveys the complex emotions of his subjects.
In his artistic practice, he places importance on the division of space, the shell, and its vortexes. He creates exclusively using oils, favoring mixed techniques.
