About this artwork
This is a mirror image composition based on the niched piers that support London's Hungerford bridge and the walkways to one side of it that allow passengers to board pleasure boats . The sculpture in the foreground is based on the 'Pisano Torso', a tiny 14th C ivory carving in the V&A. The imagery in the niches is based on 'The Triumph of Venice' by Nicolo Bambini. Interpretation is left to the spectator....
