About this artwork
Queen, IV, captures one of music's most influential bands. This original art piece is a watercolor, acrylic, sage and charcoal work directly rendered to 140lb., watercolor stock. The piece is gallery matted, and framed in edged wood, approximately 28"x22"x3". Both the matting and artwork are hand-signed and dated by the artist, David Pucciarelli in silver leaf. my original art pieces. The swatches are cut from the actual sandpaper of which I used while working on this piece. I use the sandpaper to sharpen woodless graphite, sage and charcoal.
I started to include the swatches about seven years. I had never seen anyone else do that, and I just loved the idea being able to include a special, person touch to each original work. It's my way of making a connection to each person, and to say thank you .

David Pucciarelli is an American painter and photographer who first became aware of art when purchasing his first album, 'Revolver' by the Beatles. It was to profoundly mark his artistic path. Pucciarelli describes his works as portraying "famous place and infamous places". His ultimate goal is to capture the emotional elements within each of his subjects, as well as the impact of each noteworthy place. His realistic pieces are created using watercolors, sage, and acrylics with different levels of varnish.
