About this artwork
The work entitled "Pikes and Mist" is an abstract expressionist composition combining ochre-yellow washes with misty, watery patterns in shades of blue and celadon. More aggressive lines, reminiscent of lanceolate grasses or halberds, occupy the lower right side of the canvas, contrasting with the undulating movements of the upper section.
Acrylic on linen canvas mounted on a frame, ready to hang. Sides painted in black.
Varnished canvas, signed… on the back and delivered with a certificate of authenticity from the artist.

David Vall is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, Spain, and England. Inspired by natural elements, movement, and light, his works convey an ambivalence between darkness and light, interweaving mystery between surface and depth. Vall's bold abstractions are most often created using acrylics on canvas.
