About this artwork
The work entitled "Soul Mountain" is a composition of marked verticality, swept by an ashy and dirty rain almost like a flood of slag falling from the sky. The work on the texture is particularly present on the lower and left part of the composition, revealing streaks and veins enhanced by a shiny varnish. Red, yellow and green ocher tones overlap and blend. We can guess the shape of a narrow and slender mountain which imprints its relief on a faded…
blue sky and takes its name from the eponymous novel by Gao Xingjian.
This work has been exhibited in Italy in Bellano, in the old church of San Nicolao, near the shores of Lake Como, as well as in Florence.
