About this artwork
This is one of a series of works utilizing cardboard as a substrate that touches upon the idea of permanence and impermanence. I've long been interested in the idea of repurposing discarded objects and taking something that is ubiquitous and turning it into something precious. These works are generally priced less than works on canvas due to their less stable nature. However, a work on cardboard will last much longer than we as people will.

David Wilson is a multi-disciplinary, primarily self-taught Canadian artist whose works have featured consistently in exhibitions and permanent collections throughout Western Canada. Focused on using light, colour and composition to create cityscapes that reflect the pulsating, thriving energy found within the urban landscape, his visceral paintings capture the movement and energy of moments of life in rain, in company, in solitude...layers of memory that speak to a collective understanding.
