About this artwork
The work recalls Monet's water lilies not only for the subjects, but also for the close-up shot. I used ultramarine blue and payne's grey to paint the water, which transcends from a hypothetical pond to allegorically become a universe, in which the water lilies are not simple flowers, but moving constellations. The water is finally created with flaking brush strokes that refer to antimatter and de-construct the image of the multicolored water lilies.

Davide Prevosto, an expressionist painter, explores his interiority through oil painting. Drawing on masters such as Soutine and Morandi, his gestural figuration reveals an intensely emotional approach. His works, brilliant manifestos of war, love, pain and tragedy, highlight human madness and irrationality, reaching the sublime in the exploration of existence.
