About this artwork
"Differences Come Together" is a colorful abstract painting that serves as a visual celebration of unity in the midst of diversity. This artwork invites viewers into a world where the complex tapestry of humanity comes together in harmony, transcending the boundaries of race and religion.
The painting's background sets the tone with its concrete texture, symbolizing the solid foundation upon which this diverse tapestry unfolds. The muted gray tones… of the concrete are a stark contrast to the vibrant elements in the foreground.
The foreground of this work is formed by colorful triangles, each representing an individual from a different background, race or religion. These triangles are of different orientation and color, reflecting the rich diversity within our global community. Some are bold and assertive in their presence, while others are more subtle and symbolize the inherent beauty of our differences.

« "My tableaus explore the dissonance between old and new materials, intertwined in the most beautiful way possible, creating dreamlike and melancholic images." »
DB Waterman is a painter and photographer who hails from the Netherlands, with work exhibited in the United States, Europe and New Zealand. Her creative goal is to “make something beautiful out of dilapidation” through the mediums of paint, photography and collage. She uses original photographs, acrylics, oil, charcoal, ink and pencils in her works. Having always loved the appearance of peeling paint, weathered walls and old posters, she revives this aesthetic in her pieces.
