About this artwork
This painting was selected for the House bound on line exhibition curated by the Chapel Arts Studios. The theme was work around the Kitchen and I was invited to do a live interview about my artwork around the home which you can view on their website. This painting is about a hidden moment in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil. It was inspired by a painting by Harold Gillman on a similar theme. Debbie Lee is a British figurative artist, currently based in Dorset. She studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art, the Royal College of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago, followed by research into Indian folk art and training and practice as an art therapist.
