About this artwork
In the midst of change, and let's face it - life is always changing - we seek the steadfast. We find comfort in routine and delight in the ones that feel like they could continue forever. While our lives are finite, the world is truly without end, at least any end we will likely experience.
I think this is why I find such solace in art. It's classic, timeless, and I can continue getting inspiration, creating and teaching and purchasing fine art.… There are so many things I am eager to draw and paint! My life as an art lover is steadfast, enduring, without end.
This piece won a FAV 15% recognition in the August 2025 Bold Brush Art Contest.
Debra Keirce, a painter and drawer with a background in biochemical engineering, masterfully works in oils and charcoal, drawing from rigorous classical training. She employs layered, tightly rendered traditional realism—often achieved through indirect techniques reminiscent of the Dutch Masters—across genres from photorealistic still lifes and marine art to portraits and fantastical beasts. Her artworks invite viewers into immersive narratives, evoking warm memories, wonder, and joy, aiming always to resonate with emotion and contribute positively to the well-being of those who experience her art.
