About this artwork
"Last Rays" captures a moment of contrasting beauty and intensity. Muted grays and turquoise blues juxtapose with vibrant yellow, orange, and touches of white, creating a dynamic interplay of colors. The upward composition channels energy surging towards the sky, reminiscent of the last rays of sunlight during a storm. There's a palpable sense of contrast—a juxtaposition of the ominous and the gorgeous—as the painting evokes the awe-inspiring sight…
of sunlight breaking through storm clouds. It's a visual metaphor for life's complexities, where beauty and turbulence coexist, warming hearts even in the face of darkness.

« In the beginning, the mind is as blank as the canvas. Then the hands begin their dance, the heart chooses its colors, and the emotions their expression. »
Delphine Bernard is an artist based in France whose paintings have been widely exhibited in Singapore and Indonesia. She compares each of her compositions as being like a vision or a dream and characterizes her artistic process to being "shamanistic". Bernard creates intuitively, allowing her hands to "dance and play" with colors on the canvas. Her vibrant compositions are created using acrylics on canvas.
