About this artwork
In this work I have captured the vibrant power and flowing beauty of autumn. With abstract shapes and a powerful color palette of warm earth tones and cool blues, heaven and earth merge into a dynamic, almost dancing scene. The distinctive depiction of the tree in the center symbolizes growth and transience at the same time.
From a technical point of view, this picture is one of my early attempts to combine two pouring techniques. While the sky… and the tree were created using a "Dutch pour", the "swipe technique" was used for the earthy ground. The latter is responsible for the distinctive cell structures. For me, this ground is the real highlight of the picture. The delicate structures, interspersed with gold tones like a root system, change in intensity depending on the viewing angle and the incidence of light.
I consider my experiment to be successful and am now presenting it here.
Dennis Bätz, an artist specializing in acrylic pouring, only later followed his childhood calling to art. Through meticulous planning, he produces abstract works, magnificent in color, contrast, and composition. His art invites individual interpretation and brings a universe of ideas to life. "It feels as if I am looking through a new pair of eyes and the world is revealing itself to me in a new light." With these words, Dennis Bätz described his artistic career at his first solo exhibition in 2022, from monochrome, graphic works that shaped his work for decades, to colorful abstraction. Consequently, the opening and subsequent exhibition were named "Color Frenzy". Years of experimentation and refinement of technique followed, on the one hand, and on the other, the perpetual struggle for artistic expression, the soul of the work.
