About this artwork
I've always loved pinwheels — the way they catch the light and come alive in a bit of wind. I keep a few in the front yard and by the studio door, small bursts of color that seem to spin just for the joy of it.
This is the first year I planted them like flowers in the yard, a little quirky, maybe — but the movement makes me smile every time I walk by. Sea Breeze Spinner captures that feeling: simple, bright, and alive, turning gently in the wind.

Dennis Crayon is an award-winning American painter who has exhibited his works throughout the United States. In 1998, he attended a six-week architectural dig in the ancient ruins of Pompeii. The remarkably well-preserved ancient frescoes and murals would change the course of his creative journey and inspire his artistic vision. Crayon employs his background in classical painting techniques and trompe l’oeil in his oil creations.
