About this artwork
The tide moves in gently, carrying the last light of the day across the water. Reflections stretch along the shoreline as clouds hold onto a fading warmth.
This painting explores that quiet shift when the day begins to loosen—when color softens, edges blur, and the scene becomes more about feeling than detail.
It isn’t tied to a specific place, but to a familiar pause—the moment when everything slows down and you can finally breathe.
Subject:… Coastal seascape at dusk — sky, ocean, and wet sand reflection
Location: Atlantic coast (inspired by Costa Rica evenings)
Mood: Still, suspended, quietly luminous
Lighting: Late golden hour, diffused — warm cloud glow against cool blue-gray sky
Technique: Oil on canvas, smooth layered transitions, muted atmospheric palette

Dennis Crayon is an award-winning American painter who has exhibited his works throughout the United States. In 1998, he attended a six-week architectural dig in the ancient ruins of Pompeii. The remarkably well-preserved ancient frescoes and murals would change the course of his creative journey and inspire his artistic vision. Crayon employs his background in classical painting techniques and trompe l’oeil in his oil creations.
