About this artwork
it is part of my "Transmutations" series that incorporated several works and the general title only describes the evolution from the previous series and it leaves itself open to more interpretations also by the viewer.

In his hometown of Cologne, Detlef Gotzens had the opportunity to work with masters of stained glass. He continued to study glass technology, and it wasn't until he moved to Canada that he began to incorporate painting into his work as well. The result is a collection of vibrant, vivid pieces that show his mastery of color. His abstract artworks are created using a mix of mediums, using acrylics, oils and pastels.
