About this artwork
Sometimes the hardest thing in life isn’t finding the right place—it’s finding yourself.
Inspired by the surreal world of René Magritte, this painting explores the tension between conformity and authenticity.
The familiar apples represent the expectations we encounter every day—the pressure to fit in, to wear the “right face,” and to become who others think we should be. The figure stands still, caught between the comfort of the familiar and the… uncertainty of change.
But the exit is open.
Beyond it, the river begins to flow—a reminder that there is always another path. Sometimes the greatest act of courage is simply choosing to be yourself.
Follow the river. Walk through the open door. You may not find the person you’re looking for—you may discover the person you were always meant to be.
