About this artwork
River of Dreams is a deeply personal painting, rooted in memory and hope. When my children were young, we had a little house on a lake tucked into the mountains of Western North Carolina. Life felt peaceful, joyful, and simple. We woke up to mist on the water and went to sleep with stars above the trees.
This piece captures that place—not just the landscape, but the feeling it gave me. Her mind holds the vision, because I believe all dreams begin… there. The mountains, the river, the sky—they live in our imagination before they become real. This painting is a love letter to that truth: that we become what we first dare to see within ourselves.
