About this artwork
Creating a sculpture within a box, layers of carefully hand cut card are placed to create depth and dimension.
These organic forms were inspired by studies of cells and rock formations. Enhanced by the gold leaf background which glows through the negative spaces by reflecting light, the whole work transforms as the viewer's eye moves from side to side and appears different in altered lighting situations.
The wooden box can be displayed either… free-standing or hung on a wall.
