As well as in "The Innocence of a gaze", this portrait explores the 'elusive gaze,' of a boy carrying the Fragile X Syndrome. Using a restricted palette and bold alla prima strokes, I tried to capture my son's essence as a teenager. The bluried greenish background delivers deep light and creates the glow of his face, while his eyes—avoiding a direct encounter—invite the viewer into a world of reflection.
