« My pictures represent visible traces of thought processes, they do not depict nor describe anything. »
Dieter Crumbiegel's pictures convey messages that are only revealed to him while he is painting. The German artist believes that the world only becomes a reality once it is perceived and that there is no absolute reality - 'the intention is to ignore the visible and to believe in something larger than the real visible'. Crumbiegel creates through spontaneous and situational actions using varied techniques and mediums. His pieces have no titles, instead, they are given a consecutive number.
