About this artwork
This large-scale canvas transports the viewer to the origins of the ancient East, depicting the majestic domes of the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. The artist employs a unique visual metaphor: vertical black lines, resembling cracks or fissures, divide the space, emphasizing the distance between the present and the past.
The complex texture, composed of thousands of vibrating strokes, creates an effect of living matter. The golden and ochre hues of the… architecture contrast with the deep violet sky, transforming a real landscape into a sacred image. This is not merely a city view, but an attempt to peer into the very essence of time, where architecture stands as a silent witness to eternity.
