About this artwork
In Emil Zola's book " L' assommoir" is described beautIfully and truthfully the life and the difficulties of the poor working class of Paris in the 19th century. Also , in most of his books he has described wonderfully the bright new 19th century, full of nouveautés and changes in all aspects , influencing in many ways people's lifes. His books have always been a great source of inspiration for me , with his long and colorful , almost painting-like…
descriptions. Little things have changed in my opinion until today, as the essence of the rat-race is the same. In this work, inspired from a description of festive lunch, the intention is to create an absurdity, a feast , with luxury food, where bourgeois people almost ridicule themselves.
