About this artwork
In creating this seascape, I sought to capture the relentless, rhythmic beauty of ocean waves under a vast, expressive sky. Through vigorous strokes and layers of blue oil paint, I hoped to convey the ocean's endless dance between tranquility and tumult. This painting embodies a sense of freedom and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead, bringing a dynamic and serene energy to any space.

Dimitra Papageorgiou, a self-taught artist, utilizes oils, acrylics, and mixed mediums chiefly on canvas and old wood. She evolved from impressionistic and figurative artworks to a looser, more abstract style using varied brushstrokes, textures, and vibrant colors. Akin to a tranquil day at the beach of dreams, her art encapsulates the fleeting balance between the strength and fragility of nature, especially her beloved seascapes.
