About this artwork
Como is inspired by a trip I completed back in pre covid times. The lake in Como is enigmatic, with deep shades of blue merging into the dark green reflections of the forested mountains beyond. It is a place of mystery and a deep almost paradoxical beauty, and I have tried to reflect that in this painting.

« Painting is an essential part of who I am. It's an instinctual process of creativity and expression. »
Dinah Wakefield is an exciting Australian painter who has exhibited her work nationally. Fascinated by the light that exists under the surface of our everyday reality, she seeks to capture it in her abstract representations of landscapes and natural beauty. She is primarily inspired by the Noosa region of Australia, and seeks to represent its interplay of light - from the ocean to the clouds to the hinterland beyond.
