About this artwork
"These paintings are a process. At some point they are ready. Then they hang in the house with the question: is the painting finished? Often it isn't and painting has to continue. Until it hangs again and is called into question. Sometimes it goes on like this for years."

Credentials
- Works on commission
Dirk Beckmann, a painter with a lifelong passion, mainly uses acrylic paints, modeling paste and plaster. Using techniques such as squeegeeing, inspired by Richter and Schumacher's Informel, he strives to create something that wants to be nothing. His paintings are a continuous process, a constant dialogue. His art is large format with powerful colors and confronts the viewer with the question: "Is it finished?"
