About this artwork

Original graphical artwork, created using mixed technique with watercolor and high quality archive ink on fine watercolor paper.
This work is a visual impression of my sensation of Moscow city, the capital of Russian Federation. This city appears to me vast and eclectic, fussy and anxious, neither Asian nor European but bearing distinctive traits of both with numerous pieces of Russian history scattered and crystallized here and there amid the urban… cityscapes.

« My art is a visual interpretation of events, states, and thoughts that excite, trouble, or upset me. »

Dmitri Albert, a Russian painter, draftsman, and printmaker, describes his art as rational, analytical, and sometimes ironic. While there is always a concept or sensation behind his figurative and abstract compositions, he does not feel that it is necessary for the viewer to grasp the meaning. Albert uses watercolors and inks on paper when drawing, and oils on canvas for his paintings.
