About this artwork
We observe stars in the sky, we live our everyday life. We are quite sure that our environment and our idea of what surrounds us are relevant. We firmly believe that stars are planets and the world is infinite. But is that really so? Maybe the stars are just the bulbs we'll never reach. And the world is not infinite and we are in a room. Maybe everything we see is just an illusion.

Dmitrij Schurbin was born in 1982 in Chimkent, Kazakhstan. When he was a teenager, he came to Germany with his family and attended the Kassel School of Art and Design from 2003-2007. From 2007 to 2013, he graduated from the National Academy of Moscow, Surikow, and graduated with a diploma. Today, Dmitrij Schurbin lives in Berlin, where he is a freelance artist.
