"In a white cloak with a bloody lining, with a shuffling cavalryman's gait, on the early morning of the fourteenth day of the spring month of Nisan, the Procurator of Judea, Pontius Pilate, entered the covered colonnade between the two wings of the palace of Herod the Great"
2 chapter "Pontius Pilate"
"The Master and Margarita" M. Bulgakov
In this piece, I poured raw emotion into shadowy, fluid forms. The abstract… shapes convey a tension between light and darkness, reflecting inner conflict and transformation. Using acrylic on paper allowed me to create dynamic textures that pulse with energy. Bringing this artwork into your space will evoke deep introspection and a powerful, contemplative presence that stirs both mystery and revelation.
Dmitriy Vasilenko, a painter educated at the V.A. Ptashinsky Art School No. 1 and now at Krasnodar Art School, works primarily with monotyping. He draws on classic literary themes, notably “The Master and Margarita,” infusing his art with dramatic contrasts of light, monochromatic palettes, and assertive lines. His expressive, associative style—employing elements of chance—sparks the viewer’s imagination. Vasilenko’s evocative images serve as a heartfelt invitation, bridging the gap between reality and a new dimension of feelings, evoking love of life and profound emotional experience.
