About this artwork
This painting belongs to my series exploring the cycles of life — birth, growth, decay, and renewal. I work directly with palette knives, building thick layers of oil paint until the surface itself becomes a kind of terrain. White lines cut across the canvas like branches, roots, or fractures — the connective threads that hold a chaotic world together.
The deep blues and blacks speak to the harsh winters of my native Siberia, while the bursts of… red and violet carry the memory of warmth and life pushing through. I don’t plan these compositions in advance; I let the paint and the movement of my hand guide the process, the way nature itself grows without a fixed plan.
For me, this work is about tension — between order and chaos, cold and warmth, destruction and rebirth. I want the viewer to feel that same pull: something raw and unfinished, yet alive.
