About this artwork
This abstract expressionist painting was inspired by the paintings of my mentor, Professor Sergio Graziani. The color black throughout the painting is there to symbolize elegance, wealth, restraint, and power. Black is often though of as the color of mystery, evil, traditionalism, and sorrow but not in this instance. In the center of the painting the viewer can visualize the artist with a smile on his face because the stock market has just gone…
up again. The layering of the acrylics produces a richness in the colors of the painting. Lights and darks are well placed to evolve motion around and within the painting to guide the viewer. Using color intensity and simplicity of composition, the painting makes a big impact without crowding the canvas.
