About this artwork
This abstract painting was inspired by the paintings of Max Ernst. This painting embraces the irrational, chaotic, unknowable, and otherworldly. It portrays an alternative reality which can only be found in dreams. The painting was created using charcoal mixed with the four colors in the painting which are white, yellow, black and blue. The layering of the paints creates the richness in the colors with light and darks being well placed to create…
a special world that the viewer can imagination. The acrylics catch the eye of the beholder with their colors and shapes which tell a story. There is a balance of warm, cold, and neutral color composition with a mix of different round and edged components. This is one of my favorite paintings in the over 50 years I have been painting.
