About this artwork
This painting is a linear abstraction and was completed as an experiment by the artist to attempt a different style of painting. It is divided by straight lines overlaying a web of red, white, and black applied in short brushstrokes that congeal into restlessly vibrating nodes of color. There is no one spot on which the eye can rest, and only gradually can the viewer discover beneath the network of lines, the colors of blue, yellow, and green.…
The beholder has the sense of viewing space. The lines were created by dripping paint of various colors.
