About this artwork
Dodo’s works remind people of the magical space and other elements of our planet. These pieces came as she was looking at recent photos taken of the space with stars, meteorites, planets and comparing them with close-up photos of plants and earthly elements.
The paintings are like close-ups, mini universes, that we capture either of the space or of such minuscule elements as the leaves, minerals, a stone. They are mini universes in themselves, sort… of windows to another world that is however connected to ours.
This is why she chose the round format for her paintings.
The material is flowing and soluble with water, as it is acrylic, pigments and ink. The colors are somewhat ethereal, as they change with the light, bringing movement into them, as the light and shadows change during the day.

Dodo Newman is an established Hungarian painter based in Germany, whose works have been exhibited throughout Europe, including in France, Germany, Italy and Hungary. She seeks to bring people together through art, harnessing her many experiences in different parts of the world to compose abstract pieces that capture the essence of togetherness. Her strong color combinations and balance of space and light achieve an overall aesthetic of energy and impact.
