About this artwork

I love working with shades of blue. Their intensity, their transparency and their tonal subtlety inspires me a lot. Here again, a strong contrast between the pot and the floral bouquet in flamboyant reds with the heart of flowers well sculpted and textured with structural mortar. The heart of the peonies in my gardens is an inspiration when I paint flowers on the canvas. Leaves picked in my garden and dried come to animate the floral composition… of the whole. The yellow color at the bottom behind the pot creates a bright perspective that separates the two tones of blue in this canvas and blends in between. A protective varnish has been applied and the sides of the canvas are painted black.
