About this artwork
Freddy Mercury is for me the prototype of the "stage beast" of rock. Besides the incredible range of his unique voice which allowed him to sing with a rare power and emotion. His ability to go from raw rock to operatic lyricism redefined the standards of singing in rock.
But it was obviously his stage performances that inspired me, his formidable energy that transcends Queen's music in a visual apotheosis hallucinated by the light shows. For me,… it was necessary to capture a moment, a second of this iconic gesture and through it restore the intensity of the movement and its dynamics. The abstract expressionism of the work tends to restore the fragility and strength of Freddy Mercury.
Limited edition, hand signed and numbered, reproductions made with UltraChrome™ and UltraChrome™ K3 and UltraChrome™ HD inks on 310 gram Epson certified paper.
