About this artwork
In this piece, Satie the title came after the painting was finished. This is often the case because with abstraction the process is so variable. I kept my palette simple with black, white and gray was the solution. The title refers to the great French composer Erik Satie. I find his compositions to be elegant and profound with an enduring modern quality
