About this artwork
Deep Blue is a painting in which the light and the contrast to the deep dark blue radiate overwhelming energy. It magically draws you down to the ocean floor, where there is a lot to discover. A painting full of movement, imagination and emotions.
The picture consists of several layers of acrylic paint and instead of a canvas, this work has a wooden MDF board as a background, which gives this work a very strong texture.
The sides of the plate… are painted and so the artwork can also be hung directly. The signature was scratched in the paint when it was still wet.

« In a fast paced world, I try to create what many people long for: places where time seems to be slowing down. I call it slow art. The art of deceleration. »
"Guided by pure emotions and without focusing on figurative content, I try to trigger feelings that each person perceives in a unique way."
Doris Duschelbauer is a German artist living in Mallorca.
She creates her paintings outdoors on her rooftop terrace, where the sea and Mediterranean ambience inspire her to create light-filled images full of positive energy. She avoids concrete figuration and creates images that focus on slow discovery rather than fast narrative. Her resulting works depict material complexity, peace, freedom and balance.
