"Hidden" is one of the works from the series Hidden Future - the hidden future.
A reflection on time and its hidden future. How can one capture time in a picture? How can an artist plastically represent such an abstract concept?
Once the past is stirred up, it is present again and thus becomes the present. Are not the still hidden, forgotten parts of the past only hidden parts of the future? And do they also belong to the future, if you never… come to the surface again?
Doris Duschelbauer deals with these questions and attempts to depict the relativity of time perception through visual metaphors.
The many layers applied by the artist symbolize periods of time for her. By sanding and working on these, lower layers will partially reappear or be covered again. A journey through time and at once a game between the hidden and the new.
