About this artwork
This abstract artwork is inspired by the movement of the sea. Soft tones dominate the picture. The colors like light blue, turquoise and white let the imagination run wild. Waves that hit pink rocks or just a colorful play of colors that was created by the many layers of paint.
The technique consists of acrylic paint on canvas, with the many layers, sometimes very thick, giving the artwork a strong texture. The sides are painted so it can be hung… without a frame.

« In a fast paced world, I try to create what many people long for: places where time seems to be slowing down. I call it slow art. The art of deceleration. »
"Guided by pure emotions and without focusing on figurative content, I try to trigger feelings that each person perceives in a unique way."
Doris Duschelbauer is a German artist living in Mallorca.
She creates her paintings outdoors on her rooftop terrace, where the sea and Mediterranean ambience inspire her to create light-filled images full of positive energy. She avoids concrete figuration and creates images that focus on slow discovery rather than fast narrative. Her resulting works depict material complexity, peace, freedom and balance.
