« Art to me is the place/the field where I do not have to make compromises, bend, give in, or fit into/play a role, where I can be true to myself. »
Doris Ernst is an artist based in Germany whose paintings have been widely exhibited in China. She describes her works as being based on emotions, intuition, sensitivity, and empathy. Ernst represents the individuality of human beings via distinctive stripes. Through scratches, she portrays our vulnerability but also her continuous search for hope and optimism.
