A dyptichon from the "Black Series". On the left part is a pod of fruit poppy, on the right a ram's head, abstracted. These are recurring elements, some of them archaic motifs, such as the sacrificial lamb pictured here, which serve as an association for dealing with modern history.

The freelance artist Dorit Bearach was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, in 1958. In 1979 she moved to Dresden to study painting and graphics at the College of Fine Arts, graduating in 1985 with a diploma. In 1986 she moved to Berlin, where she lives today and creates her expressive paintings. She regularly spends time working in Finland, Switzerland and Turkey.
