About this artwork
I love to explore the interaction between items that would traditionally be in the artist studio being used as artworks themselves. This work is made from brushes and inspired by a sun dail that plays with light, shadow and form.
This one is great in a room with full light as the shadows of the brushes dance and change on the wall differently throughout the year.
This work follow's my main pallette and engages with life, death and how we percieve… the journey between with black white and colours. It is a special work as it puts these against a reflective aluminium background.
Made during my @KeepArtIt residency at the Galleries Bristol, I'm thrilled to share this work as a sign of hope and renewal.

Douglas Karson is a painter and sculptor based in the United Kingdom whose works have been exhibited in England and the United States. Incorporating storytelling, poetry, as well as mythologies, and philosophies from varying cultures, his diverse works emphasize bold colors and geometry. In addition, Karson's pieces explore balance, color, perception, and the human experience through an ongoing series entitled, "the Rules".
