About this artwork
This was the first piece I completed during Lockdown. The building and creation of this piece is the culmination of almost 2 months of work.
Some people see it as a cross, but I feel that we all want some level of escape during this lockdown and crisis. It is a mast to me but you can see what you want. The ultimate symbol of freedom is the open ocean.
It was made from reclaimed wood leftover from a home renovation gone wrong. I hate to see materials… go to waste so started taking trash and turning it into art.
