About this artwork
It has taken me a while to share this artwork.
It was made during lockdown in 2020.
This was an incredibly challenging time for me and my family.
We were trapped in a house without a garden, my business was gone, my wife was sick and I was caring for her, my newborn and my two year old alone.
I remember gazing out the window and wishing to escape.
This work was made in sections in my home studio before I set up Keep Art It as my home studio wasn't… large enough to accommodate this work.
It's only recently been hung for the first time ever in ART100 gallery.

Douglas Karson is a painter and sculptor based in the United Kingdom whose works have been exhibited in England and the United States. Incorporating storytelling, poetry, as well as mythologies, and philosophies from varying cultures, his diverse works emphasize bold colors and geometry. In addition, Karson's pieces explore balance, color, perception, and the human experience through an ongoing series entitled, "the Rules".
