About this artwork
The vibrant reds, blues, and yellows against the deep, rather cool blue exude tranquility. It's an invitation to immerse oneself in this tension and experience the balance between a flow of forms and order. This intense image makes a powerful statement while simultaneously embodying peace and order. For me, it was also important to create a tension between warm and cooler colors. In addition to oils, I used and fixed pastel pigments.

Dr. Martin Knispel works with oil, mixed media, and acrylics; he studied abstract painting and has a long exhibition history.
