About this artwork
In this work, I experimented with bold oil paints and abstract forms to capture the feeling of freedom and movement. The warm yellows and blues radiate a bright energy that fills the space with vibrancy. I wanted to make the soul soar through these flowing lines and vivid colors.
Dr. Martin Knispel works with oil, mixed media, and acrylics; he studied abstract painting and has a long exhibition history. His style, rooted in classical modernism and influenced by Hölzel and Ida Kerkovius's colleague, has resulted in a free, spiritual abstraction. His works play with warm-cold and light-dark contrasts, inviting the viewer to sense transcendence, spiritual depth, and the longing for the unseen.
