About this artwork
Those of us who, like me, are part of the legion of skeptical nihilists, taking refuge in the role of resilient provocateurs, continue to believe that we will always have an island.
From these comings and goings, from the longing for shade and silence, I have visited the countless chapels scattered throughout Ibiza. All the same, all different, silent witnesses to change and absence. White, mostly generous and open, multifaceted, crenellated, with… frescoed atriums, crowned by bells and three small crosses on the façade as their only ornament.
As a pilgrim, I have been collecting pebbles, which I have then transformed into images that summarize my idea of serene beauty, of timelessness, of the capacity to endure, of being an unspoiled heritage that I want to treasure and share with those who taught me to see that there is still a hidden paradise in Ibiza.
