Long before the first stars learned their names, the Great Watcher settled upon the Hollow Hill. It neither spoke nor moved, yet every creature of the forgotten realm believed its silent gaze carried the memory of the world.
Each season, when the pale moss began to glow and the tiny mushrooms beneath the hill appeared, the young ones would make the pilgrimage. They climbed together, carrying no gifts but their curiosity, for the Great Watcher asked… for nothing except their presence.
The elders believed that those who stood before its countless eyes would return changed. Some found courage, others discovered kindness, and a rare few heard whispers of places that did not yet exist.
No one knew whether the Great Watcher was a god, a guardian, or the last dream of a vanished age.
They simply gathered...
...because that is what their ancestors had always done.
